The municipality of Lajes das Flores lies in the Autonomous Region of the Azores, on the island of Flores: according to the 2021 census it is home to 1,408 people, over 70.1 km².
With about 20 inhabitants per km², it is a sparsely populated area of countryside, small villages and wide open spaces, typical of inland Portugal. Of the 19 municipalities in the Autonomous Region of the Azores, it is number 18 by population.
