Mortágua is a municipality in Portugal, in Viseu district, in the Beiras, in central Portugal. At the 2021 census it had 8,960 inhabitants over an area of 251.2 km².
Population density is about 36 per km²: a mainly rural municipality, with a main town and several villages scattered across its territory. Of the 24 municipalities in Viseu district, it is number 16 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 42 km south-west of Viseu, the capital. The nearest major city is Coimbra, about 30 km away.
